Bolivar Cuban Cigars
Introduction
The strongest, most full-flavored Cuban cigars available. The famous Bolivar Cuban cigars, adorned with the likeness of Simon Bolivar, the great South American revolutionary, are perhaps the most recognizable as well.
The brand was first introduced in 1901. However, it wasn’t until they were being manufactured by Cifuentes y Cia in the mid-1950s did Bolivar really become popular.
Made with the finest dark wrappers, they are too strong for the beginner cigar smoker. Robust, strong, and full-bodied, Bolivars are considered ideal for more seasoned aficionados. Although a large range of Bolivar cigars is handmade, there is one machine-made version available - the cigarillo-sized Chicos.
The Flavors of Bolivar Cigars
Cuban Bolivar cigars are made with a higher proportion of seco and ligero leaves, which gives them their robustness and unique, powerful taste.
Well-known for their very spicy qualities, the flavor profile also features with dark roasted flavors of nuts, coffee over deep earthy undertones. With more recent productions, the flavors have been more balanced. Very smooth, Bolivar cigars tend to emit lots of velvety smoke and strong aromas.
