La Flor de Cano Cuban Cigars
Introduction
Created in 1884 by brothers Tomas and Jose Cano, La
Flor de Cano Cuban cigars are a limited-production brand
and thus, not very easy to find in spite of their huge demand. Nevertheless,
this range of handmade and machine-made cigars are ranked among
the best Cubans.
A small Havana brand made up of high quality, light-to-medium bodied
cigars, they feature excellent workmanship in the handmade sizes.
Their combustion is also very good, especially the Flor
de Cano Coronas cigars. Crafted with the best quality blend
of short-filler tobacco from Vuela Abajo, these vitolas have always
maintained a well balanced consistency in their production.
Flor de Canos are excellent for new cigar smokers, and are just
as suitable for a relaxing daytime smoke. However, they lack the
punch most aficionados appreciate from more traditional Havana
cigars.
The Flavors of La Flor de Cano Cigars
Flor de Cano cigars offer a good balance and holds its
own in terms of flavor. The typical Flor de Cano cigar has cedary,
nutty tones with a mild nuances of cocoa. The refined blend of tobacco
has given these Cuban cigars a very distinguished aroma.
The Flor de Cano Short Churchills, Flor de Cano Gran Coronas
and Flor de Cano Diademas are worth trying, especially for those
looking for an intermediary cigar before sampling something stronger
like the Cohiba Esplendido.
La Flor de Cano Cigars Range
The brand is made up of seven cigar types, consisting of
handmade and machine-made cigars. They are lower priced, mild, and
flavourful, but also very consistent in value and very popular.
La Flor de Cano Coronas cigars: The handmade
Flor de Cano Coronas cigars are smooth in aroma
and flavor. They are one of the most well-balanced and complex
aromatic cigars. Good texture with an excellent presentation,
they are an ideal cigar for new aficionados or for a morning smoke.
La Flor de Cano Petit Corona cigars:
La Flor de Cano Petit Corona cigars share the same format
as the Fonseca Delicias and practically the same qualities. Well
made, these Habanos have superb combustion and a smooth draw,
but are quite mild. Competitvely priced.
La Flor de Cano Selectos cigars:
This small cigar, sized between a Cervantes and a Corona,
has the typical qualities of a Flor de Cano vitola. The medium-bodied
La Flor de Cano Selectos cigars are easy to smoke
and have a good draw and combustion. Their mild spicy, earth and
coffee flavors make them popular. A good value and an excellent
cigar for new cigar smokers.
La Flor de Cano Preferidos cigars:
These small Cuban cigars are very easy to smoke, with
an easy and smooth draw and an exotic aftertaste. La Flor
de Cano Preferidos cigars are straight-forward smokes
