Hoyo de Monterrey Cuban Cigars

Introduction

Hoyo de Monterrey Cuban cigars were born in 1865, making them one of the oldest Cuban brands still in production. Launched by tobacco farmer José Gener, the name was taken from a very productive and fertile piece of land in the Vuelta Abajo region.

Known for its distinctive flavors, smooth richness and complex flavors, this superior-quality brand offers a wide range of cigars some of which are highly regarded. Hoyo de Monterrey was originally famous for its larger-sized cigars, in particular the Double Corona.

Being a brand that is marketed around the world, Hoyo de Monterrey has been selected as part of Habanos' annual Edición Limitada releases since 2000.

The Flavors of Hoyo de Monterrey Cigars

Hoyo de Monterrey cigars typically have floral, and even fruity flavors, accompanied by a certain woodiness. Smooth, light and very flavorful with a distinctive silky richness, they gently caress the palate with their fragrant aromas and complex taste.

Considered medium-to-full bodied, Hoyo cigars tend to be lighter in flavor then most Cuban cigars. The Le Hoyo series of cigars, introduced in the seventies, are comparatively stronger and more full-bodied.

Hoyo de Monterrey Cigars Range

Produced in seven factories in and around Havana, Hoyo vitoles are made with only the finest Vuelta Abajo tobacco. Some of the most in-demand cigars from the Hoyo de Monterrey range include:

Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo des Dieux cigars, sized between a Gran Corona and Lonsdale, give off rich tobacco flavors alongside nuances of rich cocoa, leather and spice. The flavors build and intensify up until the last draw. These cigars are highly recommended.
