Jose L. Piedra Cuban Cigars

Introduction

Jose Piedra is a popular domestic cigar brand in Cuba. These cigars are unique in that, unlike other short-filler cigars, the quality of the tobacco is high. As a result, for a reasonable price you get a pretty good, everyday cigar.

Jose L. Piedra Cuban cigars are machine-made creations made with scraps of tobacco leftover from rolling a Montecristo or Romeo y Julieta cigars. Produced in the local regional factory in Santa Clara, they are packaged in cardboard boxes and cellophane bunches.

The Flavors of Jose L. Piedra Cigars

Generally, Jose L. Piedra cigars have a mild-to-medium body and strong flavours. They emit earthy tones and with a pleasant aroma and typically Cuban spiciness, although at times the taste may be a little rough and one-dimensional.

As well, their construction is not perfect, but adequate. Because they are short-filler cigars, they burn rapidly.

Jose L. Piedra Cigars Range

Six cigars sizes are available in the brand, namely the Jose L. Piedra Brevas, Jose L. Piedra Cazadores, Jose L. Piedra Conservas, Jose L. Piedra Cremas, Jose L. Piedra Nacionales and the Jose L. Piedra Petit Cetros.

Jose L. Piedra Brevas cigars have a smooth medium body, but not overpowering. Earthy, with a little spicy aftertaste. Perhaps not the best-looking cigars, but for the price they are pretty good cigars.

Jose L. Piedra Cazadores cigars have a smooth taste and pleasing aroma. While they may lack a little something in the finish, they are nonetheless very good, inexpensive cigars.

Jose L. Piedra Conservas cigars are well made with a very good draw. Medium-bodied, the spicy flavors and rich earthy sharpness become sharper towards the last third of the smoke. On the whole these are better than average cigars at a low price.

Jose L. Piedra Cremas cigars are well-made Petit Coronas. Flavors include a subtly sweet creaminess accompanied by grassy taste, and a robust flavor and pleasant sharpness. Mild to medium-bodied, these are quality cigars.

Jose L. Piedra Nacionales cigars have sweet cocoa, leather and spicy flavors with noticeable aromas. They may not be visually appealing, but once lit you may discover these cigars to be very good smokes.
