Juan Lopez Cuban Cigars
Introduction
A Habanos make available in a few international markets, Juan Lopez Cuban cigars are among the rare brands that are totally handmade. Made up of only six vitolas, these Cuban cigars are balanced, of very good construction, and deliciously satisfying.
Established in the early 1870s, La Flor de Juan Lopez (full name) is one of the oldest cigar brands still in production. Recognized by their distinct woody flavors, Juan Lopez cigars can be described as being between Punch and Hoyo de Monterrey.
The Flavors of Juan Lopez Cigars
In terms of flavors and quality, Juan Lopez deliver all the best elements one would expect from a Habanos. Considered mild by Cuban standards, the complete range offers a consistent flavor based on a rich blend of long-filler tobacco from Vuelta Abajo.
Starting out mostly smooth and creamy, light aromatic overtones of coffee and cocoa emerge with every draw, taking the smoker to a nutty finish. Enhanced by a pleasant woody aftertaste, Juan Lopez cigars are attractive to many cigar connoiseurs.
Said to be one of the best handmade Havana cigars produced, they especially appeal to European palates. In 1998, the Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 1 was selected as Havana of the Year in Spain and France.
