Romeo y Julieta Cuban Cigars
Introduction
Romeo y Julieta Cuban cigars have been amongst the best known and most respected Habanos brands.
Found in 1875, the cigars immediately showed their superior quality by winning gold medals in four international exhibitions - Antwerp (1885), Paris (1889 and 1900) and Brussels (1897), for their enchanting aromas and exquisite quality.
Much of the brand’s popularity is owed to Jose Rodriguez “Pepin” Fernandez, who bought the factory in 1903. Romeo y Julieta cigars were known as one of the most prized in the industry, but took off even further after Fernandez took over the company and personally promoted the brand.
He offered personalised cigar bands to his very best customers, including monarchs, celebrities and heads of state. At one point, his factory was producing close to 2000 different bands.
Today, Romeo y Julieta cigars are available in nearly 40 shapes and sizes, in handmade and machine-made models. With a quality that has always been consistently high, they are one of the top-selling brands in the world.
